Fairtrade Debate

Fact: Nutella isn't fairtrade

I think that in todays society, big brands should be doing as much as they can to give back to the rest of society, and using fairtrade Cocoa is one way of doing this.

As much as I love Nutella, they are selling fast in over 75 countries around the world, so I think they need to consider changing their sources to Fairtrade ones, because I'm sure this will gain them a lot more respect all over the world.

However, I know a lot of people would be concerned with whether the overall taste of the pot from heaven would be different, or not as nice. But in my opinion, they have nothing to be worried about, Nutella would be doing something good for all the cocoa farmers that work so hard to bring us the spread we know and love!

Spread with a Spreader!

So I have some big news...

While on the Nutella USA website yesterday, I discovered something which could completely change the way we see Nutella spreading, and bring about a nutty revolution.

I found what can only be described as one of the greatest inventions ever, a specialist Nutella spreader,

The spreader is specially designed to reach into every corner of the pot, scraping out every last morsel so that Nutella never has to be wasted again. However, when I searched for the order form, it came to my attention that only citizens of the USA were entitled to one of these amazing spreaders, and I have to say I was pretty annoyed.

So overall, a thumbs down for the Nutella Spreader; if Nutella itself is delivered and consumed worldwide, then the merch should be too!

Cadbury Smooth Spread?

A new chocolate spread has come to my attention, its the milk chocolate spread of the one and only, Cadburys.

I have to admit, I really love Dairy Milk, and so when I saw this spread on the shelves in Tesco last weekend, I just had to give it a try.
I did have my reservations as I am a loyal Nutella fan, however it seems that Nutella has some serious competition. The cadburys spread was so close to the delicious taste of the Dairy Milk Bar that I've now found myself considering whether i should change my choice for the Number 1 spread.

Decisions Decisions.

Nutella vs. Jam

Families all over the world woke up this morning, went downstairs, and put their toast in the toaster. Kids are hungry, but buttered toast by itself just isn't enough.. so what do they use to make their breakfast meal toastingly gorgeous...?

Of course, it has to be the one and only, Nutella! Or so I thought..

But i recently found myself  involved in what I can only describe as a heated argument with my Dad over what tasted better, Nutella, or Jam.

I remember when I was little, and i had my first taste of the nutty chocolately goodness. My mum had carefully cut my toast up into little slices, and the pot was placed in front of me. Initially unsure of what the creamy brown substance was, I treaded carefully, but the minute the taste hit my mouth, I knew things would never be the same again. That day marked the start of what would become a serious Nutella addiction, which involved smuggling countless pots into my room, and sneaking spoonfuls whenever I could.

It is for this reason that I could not understand my Dads point. How can anyone choose boring fruity Jam over the heavenly taste of Nutella?

Not only that, Nutella is much more versatile, it can be spread on the simple toast,  but also, pancakes, waffles, crackers, eaten directly from the spoon, or one of my personal favourites, scoffing strawberries that are dipped in it.

To add to this, Nutella is actually good for you, thanks to the fact it is packed with Hazelnuts!

So all in all, don't listen to anyone who tries to say that Nutella isnt the No1 spread in the world. because it most definitely is :)
